Skin White Advanced Whitening Facial Cleanser Review
I believe toners are really part of the Filipina skin care routine. Especially the Eskinol brand, which I believe is a cult product here in our country. You know what I mean! Our mothers, aunties, and even some fathers and uncles use toners. That’s why if you’ll look in a grocery store you would always see a wide variety of toners. Today I won’t be reviewing something from Eskinol but from Skin White. This variant comes in a whitening lotion which is really effective and smells heavenly. As the body lotion is surely effective on me and my mom I’ve decided to buy the Advanced Whitening Facial Cleanser to test if it’ll also whiten my face.
The scent of the Skin White Advanced Whitening Facial Cleanser is powdery and fresh smelling. I only need small amount to clean my face right after washing my face. This removes excess eyeliner, mascara, and foundation that were not removed by facial wash or even facial scrubs. I hate sleeping with traces of makeup on my face so I make sure to remove it thoroughly. I love that this leaves my skin squeaky clean and fresh. It removes all traces of oil and dirt on my face and my neck. Even though this has alcohol content I didn’t notice that it made my skin dry especially my cheeks. I just hate that there are times it stings like crazy and makes my skin feel tight.
At lot of times I use this in the morning to prep my skin before moisturizing. This closes my pores making it look pore-less. This also helps keep my oiliness at bay, and oftentimes oil will only appear almost midday. How awesome is that? I noticed that if I use my Celeteque Alcohol Free Toner it doesn’t close my pores just like Skin White’s Advance Whitening Cleanser. I guess this is because of the alcohol content.
For the whitening part, I noticed that my skin is quite radiant than before with the help my facial regimen though the dark spots are still there.
If you don’t know, my skin is oily and acne-prone. I’ve been under Tretinoin for over a year already and my skin is still not at its best state. That’s why I rarely use over the counter face products unless it has been reviewed a lot of times already. Happily, I didn’t experience any breakouts or irritation with this.
My mom also taught me to use the Skin White Advanced Whitening Facial Cleanser on my armpits and my elbows. When she was still young she used Eskinol on her armpits and elbows that’s why it is not dark. She said I shouldn’t rub it on but just massage it. Since this has whitening properties I’m really hoping it would help some dark spots on my armpit to lighten. I haven’t noticed any significant changes but I love how smooth and soft my armpits are right after using. I also use this on my elbows but since they are not really dark then this would help keep them from getting dark.

What I Don’t Like About It
- Stings especially if I just had my monthly chemical facial peel
- Sometimes my skin feels stretchy after use
- Didn’t notice that it faded my dark blemishes
Final Thoughts
There’s nothing really special about this toner but since this is affordable, does its job in cleaning & prepping my skin for makeup, I often reach for it especially on those days I’m almost due my monthly chemical peel. On the other hand I use the Celeteque Alcohol Free toner on the week right after my chemical peel. Although I wouldn’t recommend the Skin White Advanced Whitening Facial Cleanser to those who have sensitive skin and those who avoid alcohol.
